The third week of August had quite interesting releases and we’ve narrowed it down to a few top tracks for you.
List of the top 5 comeback of August
- Red Velvet – Queendom
The Queens are back to reclaim their thrones! Red Velvet made the much-awaited comeback with their sixth EP ‘Queendom’ and a whimsical mv with the title track named the same on 16th August. Queendom is a pop track with house influences, packed in an enchanting mv and lyrics that are pure words of encouragement.
- CIX – WAVE
On 17th August, CIX released their first ever studio length album ‘Ok Prologue: Be Ok’ with ‘WAVE’ as their title track. A very well produced and enjoyable song especially for listerenes who love the sound of heavy synth beats. As for the mv, they are seen voyaging amidst the tidal waves, a perfect metaphor for striving past the storms of life.
3. TXT – Loser = Lover
TXT is on a road to become our 4th Gen rockstars! On 17th August, they made a comeback with ‘Loser = Lover’ an absolute banger right within the domain of their previous hit ‘0X1=Lovesong”. The track serves as a lead title for their repackaged album ‘The Chaos Chapter: FIGHT OR ESCAPE’. It’s been ages since you’ve heard a mainstream catchy pop-punk and ‘Loser=Love’ seems to fill up that void. Many will be able to resonate with the track as it expresses an individual’s (loser) desire to become a hero for their lover.
4. Ateez ft. Kim Jong Kook
Right at the beginning of the third week of August i.e on the 16th, ATEEZ dropped a comeback track ‘Be My Lover’ in collaboration with Kim Jong Kook. This fun old skool summer song with its ambiance and feature transports you back to the first generation Kpop era.
5. TEN & Yangyang
Fellow bandmates TEN & Yangyang of WayV have dropped a breezy love track ‘Low Low’ on 17th August. It is another all English track from TEN since his recent ‘Paint Me Naked’. The duo are charismatic performers, to say the least and their energy matches the laidback dance-pop melodies just perfectly.
5. A Little Space – Pentatonix ft. ATEEZ
Sub-units and collaborations are definitely thriving this season. To add more to this ongoing saga we have our honorable mentions from this week i.e. Pentagon’s unexpected sub-unit Yuto, Kino, and Wooseok with their hip-hop single ‘Cerberus’, which relies heavily on its intensity that will pump you up. On the other hand, ATEEZ’s Jongho, Yunho, and San feature on Pentatonix’s remix version of ‘A little Space’, which was a burst of delightful vocals to the funky groove.
